Description
- Job Share: Freelance[1] based on mutual agreement and number of available audits
- Location of Audits: East Africa
- Required Languages: English
- Payment: According to the auditor’s fee agreement
- Start date: as soon as possible
- Auditor training: Will be provided by FLOCERT
Your responsibilities
- Performing audits of manufacturing and trading companies as well as producer organisations and exporters in the specific region/country against the Fairtrade Trade Standard
- Scheduling of audits as requested by FLOCERT
- Completion of audit reports, including identification of all relevant non-conformities
Your qualifications, experience and skills
- University education (B.A. or equivalent) in a relevant subject (e.g., Business, Agronomy, Economics, Food Science etc.)
- Multiple years of related professional work experience in auditing (e.g., Fairtrade, organic, ISO 9001:2000, SA8000, ISO 14001, financial audits)
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written
- Fluency in the language of resident country
- Strong dedication towards customer service and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to be assertive, unbiased and impartial
- Resident of any country in and around East Africa
- Experience with working in a target business would be a nice to have
- Professional work experience with companies, producer organisations and / or exporters would be an advantage
- Technical knowledge of current Fairtrade products, e.g., coffee, tea, flowers, cotton, fresh and dried fruit, nuts and oil seeds would be an asset
